These are the public Terms of Service for Ooh Shiny!, a house-cleaning booking application operated by Edge & Embers in Mangawhai, New Zealand. Contact: hello@edgeandembers.co.nz.
Ooh Shiny! is a convenience platform. We help you find and book an independent cleaner. We do not do the clean. We are not responsible for damage, injury, or loss of property.
These terms apply when you use the marketing site at oohshiny.co.nz, customer booking at book.oohshiny.co.nz, Shiny Hero’s at app.oohshiny.co.nz, or any related Ooh Shiny! page.
Using any of those sites, joining the waitlist, applying as a cleaner, creating an account, or sending a booking request means you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the sites.
Ooh Shiny! is a technology platform. It lists independent sole-trader cleaners and lets a customer pick a person and a time. We provide the website, accounts, and booking messages. We are not the cleaner. We do not supply the clean. We do not send a company team. We do not supervise the work in the home.
The cleaning agreement is between the customer and the cleaner they chose. That person sets their own hours and their own rate. They decide whether to accept, decline, or later cancel a request. We are not a party to that job.
Cleaners on Ooh Shiny! are listed as independent sole traders. One person, one account. Companies with staff are not listed. We do not employ the cleaner. We do not set their hours. We do not require them to accept any job.
To the extent New Zealand law allows, Edge & Embers and Ooh Shiny! are not liable for damage to a home or property, injury at the job, loss or theft, a clean that is late or incomplete, or a cleaner who declines, cancels, or does not arrive. Ooh Shiny! does not insure the clean.
You must be 18 or over. You must give true details. A customer must have the right to book that property. Cleaners must be independent sole traders. Do not send someone else to do a job you accepted.
The price you see is that cleaner’s price for that job. Cash on the day is paid to the cleaner, not to Ooh Shiny!, and only if that cleaner takes cash this month. Card checkout is handled by the card provider. A request is not confirmed until that cleaner accepts.
You can create an Ooh Shiny! account with email, Google, or Facebook. Google Sign-In provides your name and email so we can open the account. How we handle personal information is in our privacy policy.
These Terms of Service are governed by the law of New Zealand. Rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot be excluded still apply to our own service of running the platform. They do not turn us into the cleaner.
